Island Dot Buzz endeavors at all times to make all content within www.island.buzz and its affiliated sites free of speech contrary to applicable human rights legislation and speech that would go against generally recognized community standards. Without limiting the specificity of such, these restrictions include any demeaning, inflammatory, hateful, or hurtful speech directed to any individual or group based on the race, creed, colour, ancestry, caste, abilities, gender, sexual preference, and so on. Posting by any group or individual that violates these terms may include either a temporary or permanent ban, at the sole discretion of Island Dot Buzz Enterprises.
Island Dot Buzz provides a free platform for advertising single day, or short duration events for entities that are charity, not-for-profit, (FNMI) First Nation Metis and Inuit community organizations, and municipalities. These groups may advertise up to twelve times per year at no charge. Advertising events in a way that creates a permanent or near permanent presence on the site is not allowed. Charities, not-for-profits, FNMI community and municipalities that wish to have a permanent presence on the site may do so by purchasing advertising slots at a rate that are discounted from regular business enterprises.
Island Dot Buzz may ask for proof of an advertiser’s charity, not for profit, FNMI, or community group status before posting free advertising copy. In the normal course of business, should the status of any advertiser be found to be not a registered charity, not-for-profit, or FNMI group, the free community event ad or discounted paid ad will be immediately removed and future postings may be denied at our sole discretion.
Island Dot Buzz accepts advertisements for business entities that are based on or serving Vancouver Island. Business entities that do not meet these criteria may not advertise on www.island.buzz or our affiliated sites.
Advertisers agree to never supply links to sites that point to anywhere other than the business being featured in their ads. They further agree to notify Island Dot Buzz immediately if supplied links are improperly pointed to another site, or otherwise compromised through malware, illegal access, digital vandalism, etc.
Island Dot Buzz may make minor edits to advertising copy from either community events or businesses for spelling, grammar, brevity, or to make ads more concise. We will work with advertisers to ensure that all copy is approved and appropriate for each of us.
Advertisers may supply up to 250 words per event or ad. Ads that slightly exceed this limitation may be approved from time to time on an individual case basis.
While links to a paid business ad may point to dynamic content, such as the advertisers own site, we cannot provide ongoing updates to an ad once posted other than minor corrections, etc.

Island Dot Buzz may extend, duplicate, or otherwise broaden the size or length of an advertisers copy to balance the appearance of our product unless told not to do so by the advertiser. (e.g. an ad may appear twice on our website in order to enhance the overall appearance of the page from a balance point of view). Duplicate or extended ads are never any additional cost.
All pricing is subject to change from time to time. At certain times, special advertising such as banner ads may become available. At other times, discounts may be available for extending ads and so on. While we cannot offer refunds for spots already booked, we may be able to extend an ad into a promotional period at a reduced rate, at our sole discretion.
Island Dot Buzz uses graphics and visual content from the following sources: (1) Advertiser or organization supplied graphics, photos, logos, etc. (2) Open source licensed graphics, photos, etc. from websites such as www.unspash.com (3) AI generated graphic content from providers such as Bing image generator, etc. (4) Content generated in house by Island Buzz Enterprises or it’s affiliates. In all cases, content that is copyrighted is the property of the provisioning entity and may not be copied, altered, reproduced, distributed, etc., except by mutual written agreement with the copyright holders.
