Island Buzz Enterprises came about from from a confluence of an available domain name, a previous successful venture that was very much like www.island.buzz, and a clear need for a place where Islanders (and people who visit or otherwise love the Island) could get the buzz on community events, local business, and other information from one source. A couple of years back, before moving to mid island, we were looking for information on things to do and places to explore in and around the Campbell River, Courtenay, and Comox. We were also looking for services that we would need in our new home – real estate, plumbers, electricians, etc. (we were looking for a fixer-upper).
It quickly became apparent that this information was scattered like dandelion seeds in the wind! It was a chore trying to track down information and many of the sources we came across were outdated, hard to navigate, and so on. And as this was happening, the domain name www.island.buzz became available. Sometimes if what you are looking for isn’t available – you just have to build it yourself.
We have some core beliefs that will guide us forward. We want to be a part of the community, not just transplants. We want to support our community – so we will dedicating a small amount of our profits to local charities.
